Rob concentrates his practice in the areas of creditors’ rights, foreclosures and workouts while also advising clients in the areas of real estate and general business and corporate law. In addition to his law degree, Rob has Fortune 500 corporate experience and a Master’s of Business Administration that provides him with the broad range of experience upon which to assist clients in making business decisions with the necessary legal issues and ramifications considered.

Creditors’ Rights and Loan Enforcement. Rob represents secured, unsecured and priority creditors as well as lessors in proceedings under all Chapters of the Bankruptcy Code. He has also prosecuted and defended numerous adversary proceedings, including preference actions, objections to discharge, avoidance of liens and objections to confirmation of plans in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proceedings. Rob has also assisted various entities with the acquisition of assets from bankrupt estates.

Rob’s work includes the representation of banks and lending institutions outside of bankruptcy court. He has represented both Kansas and Missouri lenders and judgment creditors in complex workouts, complex foreclosure actions, loan enforcement, appointments of receivers, pre-judgment attachments, replevin actions, and judgment collection including garnishments, execution sales and sheriff sales.  Mr. Maher is also versed with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and has defended a number of lenders, collection agencies and mortgage professionals against consumer claims under the FDCPA. Rob’s practice also consists of the representation of Kansas and Missouri lenders in issues surrounding the processing of garnishments and tax levies.

Real Estate Transactions. Rob works with clients in the acquisition, financing, liquidation and leasing of all interests in real property. His work includes assisting clients in general real estate transactions as well as contractual and construction disputes. He has advised both landlords and tenants in the creation, negotiation and enforcement of lease agreements for commercial, retail, industrial and residential properties.

Business Consultation. Rob represents individuals with forming and operating organizational entities, including corporations and limited liability companies. He has also assisted clients with selling or acquiring businesses through stock and/or asset sales as well as the buy-out of individual partners or members from partnerships or limited liability companies.

Rob’s philosophy is to provide his clients with legal services that are value-added contributions that protect and provide support to his business and individual clients allowing them to make the appropriate business decisions.  Rob has received the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating for legal ability and ethics that an attorney practicing law less than 10 years may receive from his peers.
